This article is about our recently updated (February 2025) scheduling feature, which is still in beta. We're still making adjustments to scheduling, and not everyone has access to the update just yet. If your version of Upheal doesn't look like this now, don't worry, it will soon!

You can connect your personal and work calendars to Upheal and see all your calendar events in one place. This helps manage your appointments and prevent scheduling conflicts.

Sync your calendars from Google, SimplePractice, Alma, Headway, TherapyNotes, and more.

How does linking a calendar work?

Right now, Upheal can show events from your other calendars. However, events you add in Upheal won’t appear in your other calendars.

Connecting your Google Calendar

  1. In Upheal, go to your Settings > Calendar

  2. Click Connect under Google Calendar

  3. Follow the instructions to acknowledge HIPAA compliance and sign in with your Google account.

  4. When asked if Upheal can have access to your Google account, click Allow.

That's it! You're connected, and you'll see events from your Google calendar in Upheal.

Disconnecting from Google Calendar

If you had your Google Calendar linked to Upheal before this update, you have a two-way connection. This means you can see your Upheal appointments in Google Calendar, and your Google Calendar events in Upheal. As long as you don't disconnect Google Calendar from Upheal, you'll keep this connection.

With our latest update, new connections are read-only. If you disconnect and reconnect your Google and Upheal calendars, you won't be able to restore the two-way connection. With a read-only connection:

  • You'll be able to see your Google events in Upheal

  • You can choose which calendars from your Google account to show in Upheal

  • You won't be able to see your Upheal events in Google

We're actively working on reintroducing two-way sync between Google Calendar and Upheal!

Connecting your calendar from SimplePractice, Alma, Headway, or TherapyNotes

  1. In Upheal, go to your Settings > Calendar

  2. Click Connect under your platform (SimplePractice, Alma, Headway etc...)

  3. Follow the instructions to find the iCal link in your platform's settings and paste it into Upheal. Click Connect.

Now, you'll be able to see your other appointments in Upheal.

Connecting calendars from other platforms

If you don't see your platform listed in Settings > Calendar, click Other platform. Most platforms are able to share their calendars with Upheal via iCal link or Google integration.

Connecting via iCal link

  1. In Settings > Calendar, click Other platform.

  2. Find the iCal link in your app or platform — look in Settings, Integrations, or Calendar sync.

  3. Copy the iCal URL provided.

  4. In Upheal, paste it under Calendar URL, and click Connect.

Check your platform’s help pages for more details about integrating via iCal.

Connecting via Google integration

  1. Check if your platform supports Google Calendar integration—look in Settings or Integrations.

  2. Connect your platform to your Google Calendar.

  3. Then, link the same Google Calendar to Upheal. You'll see your linked calendar listed, and you can choose to display or not display it.

Check your platform’s help pages for more details about integrating with Google.
