Upheal can generate full notes from your dictated or written summaries, so you can get help with note-taking even without capturing or recording sessions. If you're not capturing sessions, do you still need client consent? That depends on the information you're entering into Upheal.
When you need client consent:
When getting full notes from summaries, you'll need to obtain client consent if any client PII (personally identifiable information) ends up in Upheal. This applies to your own written or dictated summary and any edits you make to the generated note, and also applies if the session is attached to a specific client (not anonymous).
In other words, if your input, final note, or session info includes the client's name, personal details, or anything that could link this session to the client, you'll need to obtain client consent.
When you don't need client consent:
If you can write or dictate a summary or observations without any PII (personal identifiable information) at all, and the session is anonymous in Upheal (not assigned to a client profile), then you can proceed without client consent.
In other words, if there is no information that could be linked to or used to identify your client in your summary, the final note, or the session info, then you don't need to obtain client consent to get notes based on your summaries.
