If you don't see the options presented in this article, please visit this one instead. We are in the process of updating and improving Upheal, so you might still have the previous layout.

Upheal offers several therapeutic, psychiatric, and medical note templates. You can change your default note template at any time, even after a session has already been processed. You can also set your own custom template as your default.

Changing your default note type

You can set a default type for all of your future notes. If you want a certain client to have a different note type than your default, you can change the note type for just that client later (see below).

  1. Go to your Settings.

  2. On the left, go to Note settings. In Default note templates, click Change template.

  3. Select the note type you'd like. You can filter templates with the options at the top.

    To save, click Next.

All future sessions will be in this note type, unless you choose a different type for specific clients.

Changing a client’s note type

You can change a specific client’s default progress note type so that all future session notes for that client will be in your chosen format.

  1. Go to the client’s profile.

  2. Beside the Default note type section, click Change.

  3. Select the note type you'd like. You can filter templates with the options at the top.

    To save, click Next.

All future session notes for this client will be in the new selected format.

Changing the note template of an existing note

Rather than changing a note's template, you can generate an additional note for a session with a new note template.

  1. Go to the session you’d like to change.

  2. Click the Add note tab.

  3. Click on the template you'd like to choose, and you'll get a new note. This does not affect or delete any other notes for this session.

If you'd like to delete the initial note:

  1. Click on the note tab you'd like to delete.

  2. Click the three-dot icon, and click Delete note.

  3. To confirm, click Yes, delete it.
