While data stored in Upheal is highly protected, we still want to provide you convenient options that work with your data storage preferences. You can set up transcripts and/or sessions to be automatically deleted after a set timeframe.

Data deleted this way is permanently removed from Upheal, but it will be recoverable for a four-day grace period after deletion.

Important to know:

Does automatic deletion apply to existing sessions?

Yes โ€” When you activate automatic deletion settings, data from both past and future sessions will be deleted.

What happens if I delete the transcript?

Without a session transcript, you can't reprocess the session or change the note type, generate a treatment plan, get post-session summaries for clients, add quotes to your note using Smart edit, or use other features we're developing that rely on the transcript.

Setting up automatic deletion

  1. Go to your Settings.

  2. Go to Practice settings, and scroll to Automatic deletion.

  3. Toggle on which type of data you'd like to delete, and select the time frame.

  4. The setting will apply all to past and future sessions.
