If you want to capture in-person sessions on your iPhone or iPad, we recommend using our iOS app, so you can skip the step of uploading recordings manually.

Please note that the iOS app does not capture phone calls made on the same phone — See our tips for recording phone calls.

If you recorded a session on your phone with a recording app, you can upload the file to Upheal from your mobile device.

What file types can I upload?

Upheal accepts audio and video files with the file extensions .caf, .flac, .m4a, .mid, .mp3, .oga, .ogg, .opus, .wav, .weba, .3g2, .3gp, .asx, .avi, .mj2, .mov, .mp4, .mpg, .mpeg, .ogm, .ogv, .webm, and .wmv.

For iPhone users:

To upload a recording from Voice Memos:

  1. Select the recording and click the three-dot icon to see more options.

Then, towards the bottom of the list, click Save to files.

  2. Choose where to save your voice memo. You should save the file in a place you'll be able to find it later so you can upload it to Upheal.

In the screenshot below, the file would be saved in the Downloads folder of the iCloud Drive.

To change the folder, click the down arrow beside the folder's name (in this case, Downloads). To change the location, something other than iCloud in this case, click the back arrow beside the location name.

You could make a new folder for recordings called Sessions, for example.

Once you've chosen where to save the voice memo, click Save.

  3. Now, go to app.upheal.io in a web browser on your phone, such as Google Chrome.

  4. Click on Upload recording.

  5. Click Browse your device, and click Choose file.

  6. Find the file in the same place you saved it, and select the file.

  7. Fill in the session details, and click Continue with processing.

That's it! Your session will appear on your dashboard.

For Android users:

Depending on your phone’s brand, the below may look slightly different than in our screenshots.

  1. Open your voice recording app.

  2. Long press on the recording you want to save and select Save As.

  3. Save the file in a folder you'll be able to find it in later.

  4. Now, go to app.upheal.io in a web browser on your phone, such as Google Chrome.

  5. Click on Upload recording.

  6. Click Browse your device, and click Choose file.

  7. In your Android app drawer, select Files or any other file browser.

  8. Select the recording you saved earlier.

Fill in the session details, and click Continue to processing. The session will appear on your dashboard.
